5 out of 5 stars The Wii Remote Controller - wireless technology at its best November 11, 2008
I love my Wii remote controllers. I have three of them. The first two came with my Wii, and the third came with my Wii Play.

As far as batteries are concerned, rechargeable batteries are good. The charge station from Nyko is better.

Have a look at the photo of the product on this page. See the clear plastic case the remote is in? That's known as a remote jacket. You can order those, as well as replacement straps, on the nintendo website. Both can be had for free.

On a whole, the Wii remote controller outranks the controllers from Nintendo Entertainment System and Super Nintendo Entertainment System many times over.

The additional wand works great. You must syncronize the wand to the controller before you can use it. I finally had to read the instructions. After this it worked just fine!

I think these things are way to expensive, but they sure are worth it. I love sitting back on my butt where ever and having a fun time without any restrictions.

3 out of 5 stars Somewhat Useful October 29, 2008

The Wiimote is somewhat useful, except for Smash Brothers. Then it is a suitable handicap for professional and semi-pro players vs. casual players.

BlackBerry Curve 8310 Smartphone Titanium (AT&T) - I Love this Phone

BlackBerry Curve 8310 Smartphone Titanium (AT&T) - I Love this PhoneBrand: BlackBerry
Category: Wireless

5 out of 5 stars I Love this Phone November 20, 2008
First, let me say that I am a neophyte when it comes to technology. I used to be very technology savvy. Now I am one of the people who I used to talk badly about. I can generally figure things out, but I am not a geek by any stretch of the imagination. That being said, this is a GREAT phone and I think anyone else who is in my class of users will love it too. Let me list the things I love about it:

Size: The phone is the perfect size. It fits easily in your pocket (guys) - even with the protective sleeve. You don't have to look like one of those geeky people with the pocket protector. It has a smooth feel that just feels comfortable in the palm of your hand.

Phone quality: The phone quality is great! I have a slight hearing impairment, so it is important for the phone volume to be loud enough for me to actually hear - especially in noisy surroundings. This phone passes the test with flying colors. I usually only have the phone at 3/4 volume. I have never been able to do that with any other cell phone. The speaker phone also is the best quality I have seen.

GPS - This is a great feature. I thought I would not use it since you have to pay extra for telenav. I already wasn't happy about paying $30 extra for unlimited data, so I definitely wasn't going to pay for the gps. Then I read here that you can download google mobile maps for free. DO IT!!! I know my own city pretty well, so it is only a novelty right now, but it will definitely come in handy when I travel. All you have to do is put in the location of where you want to go, then have the phone track your own location. You can literally watch yourself moving toward your destination - regardless of whether you have asked it to map your route or not. Have you ever been in the vicinity of a destination, but not been able to figure out where it is at exactly (or not sure which way to turn)? Never again.

Voice Dialing - With a blue tooth headset, you can just push a button on your headset and give a verbal command (i.e. "call john," or "dial 555-555). It will ask you which # (mobile, work, home, etc.). Once you respond, it will dial automoatically.

Battery Life: This is one of the reasons I chose the curve over the iPhone. The batterylife is great. I generally charge my phone everyday, but I also use it quite a bit too. I have only had it go down to 50% once, and that was when I left the GPS in tracking mode for several hours. You can change the battery yourself, as opposed to having to have someone else do it for you.

e-mail: Right now, I have only my personal account set-up on the phone, but you can have up to ten e-mail accounts on it at one time. I get e-mails automatically. I can also delete e-mails from both my handheld and from my account with just the push of a button. I wish it would let me delete ultiple e-mails at one time. Better yet, let me get rid of some of that spam all together, but that is a different story.

Camera - I am pleasantly surprised by the quality of the pictures. It has a built in flash and takes awesome pictures. Also, by putting a microSD card in the phone, you can literally store all your pictures on your blackberry. I was able to get a 4gb card, which I am told that some phones do not support.

Keyboard - This is another reason I chose the Curve over the iPhone. You geet a full qwerty keyboard. I have somewhat large fingers, but am able to manipulate the keys fairly easily. It helps if I use my fingernails rather than the pads of my fingers/thumbs.

Music - Like the camera, you can put quite a bit of music on your Curve if you use a microSD card. The sound is great.

Protective Sleeve: A protective sleeve comes with the Curve. When you put the phone in the sleeve, it automatically goes into power save mode - not to mention the fact that it protects your screen from unnecessary scratches. Someone said you can actually change the screen, but I haven't figured out how yet.

Password keeper - No more keeping that password list under your keyboard. You can put all of your passwords into the Blackberry (and can even mask them from prying eyes - although it appears to only keep honest people away from them. Its not that hard to unmask). The nice thing is that your passwords are password protected, so theoretically, they're safe.

Attachments - You can open Microsoft Office files, as well as .pdf's. I understand you can also open up .wmv files, although I haven't done it yet.

There are just a couple things I do not care for:

Manuverability - I still find myself pressing a lot of different buttons to get to the screen I want - especially as I switch back and forth between the "full menu" and the "express menu" (I'm not sure what you really call them. Maybe it will just take me getting used to some of the buttons. Even getting to my address book can be a challenge sometimes.

Internet - This is an area where I think the iPhone might be better. The internet capability is a bit slow, and you don't always get the full content of page like you would on a pc. On the fly, it is good to have though.

All in all, this was a great purchase. I wondered if I would regret getting this phone over the iPhone. So far, I haven't. I highly recommend it.

$16.79 PediPaws : Fantastic Product

 $16.79 PediPawsBrand: PediPaws
Category: Pet Products

1 out of 5 stars Concept sounds nice but Doesn't Work! November 2, 2008
The concept of PediPaws sounds nice, but it doesn't work. It's a bulky machine that is hard to handle and clumsy to use. To trim my cat's claws, I need to be quick. However, with PediPaws, I need to extend his claw and fit it through the hole in the protective cap. This is nearly impossible as my cat struggles to get away. Furthermore, my cat hates the pressure and vibrations of having his nails sanded down. I have had greater success with a simple nail trimmer.

1 out of 5 stars CAT-taztrophy! October 30, 2008
I tried to use this product on my cat. Her poor little nails were just shredded to pieces. We did one claw and it was so painful to her that she limped around for quite a while. I would not recommend using this product on cats despite advertising

5 out of 5 stars Fantastic Product October 30, 2008
This products solves a painstaking problem in my house with 2 dogs. None of them would take to nail clipping, so the task would get ignored.

PediPaws is fantastic. The instructions were written by someone who knows dogs and walks you through training them. In one night my dogs were trained and they now line up to have their paws done (treats are readily available with each nail clip).

4 out of 5 stars Pet Nail Cutter October 29, 2008
Product was as advertised. I think it needs to state what size pets it will work best with. It works but if the nails(claws)have alot of growth it's going to take awhile to trim them down, two or three settings because even though it is better than clippers, long sections tend to heat up the nails to an uncomfortable level.

4 out of 5 stars Makes nails smooth October 28, 2008
I like this product, it makes my dogs nails smoother than cutting or filing. It does make some noise, and the grinding of the nails smells a little, but it is a great product.

Omron HJ-112 Digital Premium Pedometer

Omron HJ-112 Digital Premium PedometerBrand: Omron
Category: Health And Beauty

5 out of 5 stars It's the Best! October 25, 2008
I bought the omron pedometer for my husband and myself last Valentine's day, (for our hearts, don'tcha know.) It has been a fine investment and we have been very pleased with the ease of operation (it works IN your pocket, which means it's harder to lose or fall in the toilet, it resets its own self at midnight.) I have since bought 3 more for my son, mom, and sister. I am about to buy 5 more for gifts.

5 out of 5 stars Great Pedometer October 24, 2008
I really love this pedometer. The best one I have purchased. Easy to use, love that I don't have to hang it from my waist.
Well worth the price. Also Omron is a good product.
I have and will recommend this pedometer to family and friends.

5 out of 5 stars Great pedometer October 24, 2008
I've been searching for a pedometer that is as awesome as this one for years!

Features I love the best:
* works in a purse/pocket as well as on your hip
* Large readout, easy to read
* auto calculates mileage
* Stores a week's worth of step days, so if you forget to write one down it's easy to go back.
* super easy to program!

I've had mine for 6 months and the batter is still going strong.

5 out of 5 stars It's big, but great October 24, 2008
According to Dr. Oz and You: Staying Young: The Owner's Manual for Extending Your Warranty (You), walking 30 minutes a day is a critical aspect of taking care of your body as well as working up to 10,000 steps a day ... so this was one of several products I purchased I as I implemented the Staying Young program.

This pedometer is much larger than any other pedometer I've owned (I've had a few over the years) and I don't particularly care for the size, but it wallops a great punch of features that have made it worthwhile ...

1. This is the easiest one ever to set-up, read, review, etc.

2. It can tell when you're 'walking around' versus 'really walking' -- It tracks all your steps regardless of intensity but it also and tracks a second category as aerobic steps (you just hit the lowest middle 'mode' button to read this subset information). It also tells you distance and calories burned.

3. It resets itself to 0 every morning and has a seven day memory.

4. The belt clip that comes with it is secure and easy to use.

If you are making a commitment to better health and it involves a walking program of any kind, I think this would be a great enhancement to your commitment and success.

Bon Appetit!

5 out of 5 stars Awesome October 24, 2008
My daughter and I both got one of these. It's so fun to see how many steps you actually take in a normal day! It's been fun to use! It even shows you how many calories you are burning. We love it! Now my hubby wants one!

$359.00 Kindle: Amazon's Wireless Reading Device

Kindle: Amazon's Wireless Reading DeviceCustomer Reviews: Read 4990 more reviews...

4 out of 5 stars I like the Kindle October 17, 2008
After reading the reviews about the Kindle I decided to try it out. I like to read but don't like the bulk of books. I wanted to be able to take one or more books with me. So, the Kindle was a no brainer. I was worried a bit about some of the bad ratings but I'm a gambler.

After having my Kindle for about 2 months, I LOVE IT! No bulky books to carry around with me. Easy to use (but there is some learning to do). Yes, the buttons aren't perfectly placed so my biggest problem is that I seem to turn pages when I didn't mean to. Get used to it. It happens. Just hit the 'previous page' button and you're back.

Love the newspapers and the magazines. It's not like the real thing but if you want the news, you've got it. And it's all in a small, lightweight unit. I live in the country and the Whispernet, through Sprint, works great. Whole books download in seconds. You can bookmark and highlight to you heart's content. One of my favorite features is the built-in dictionary. Simple to use.

Lots more good than bad. I'd recommend it to anyone. But be careful. It just might make an avid reader out of you.

Thanks Amazon. I'm hooked for life.

5 out of 5 stars Best gift ever! October 17, 2008
I Bought the Kindle for my wife one year ago. She was always wanting to go to the book store. Watching the book pile up I thought I would get her this. Man this is the best thing Ive ever bought her! Shes used it every day for the last year. She takes it with us on trips and cant seem to stop talking about how much she enjoys it. Shes always happy to share info about the unit. Shes even gone so far to suggest Colleges she use the Kindle and kids would have a lot less to pack around. It might even save high book cost's. If anyone is on the fence about this item, no worries! This thing rocks!

5 out of 5 stars I'm Very Pleased with my Kindle October 17, 2008
I am very pleased with my Kindle. I'm still learning what all I can do on it. So far, it has met all my expectations. I suffer from severe rheumatoid arthritis and was finding it very difficult to hold my books while reading because of painful fingers. (had to use a pillow to hold Duma Key)

The downloads are very fast and it is still charged from the hour I had it plugged in the day it was delivered. I read for a couple hours every night, sometimes a lot more. I do not use the book holder because it just adds weight.

I would recommend this to my friends who love to read as much as I do. I also like to be able to make the font larger. My eyes are not so good as I am diabetic and need large print books.

Thanks Amazon for a great product.

5 out of 5 stars My new Kindle October 17, 2008

This is a great product. I am finding it easy to use even when I don't read the instructions. It was so handy when I wanted to read in the airport, on the plane and at my destination. When someone extols a book they are reading, I question them carefully, consider who they are, and if they pass the test, I order the book on the spot before I forget the title. Several friends who like toys are also interested after seeing my Kindle in action.

3 out of 5 stars Where do I hold this thing? October 17, 2008
1 out of 7 found this review helpful

Lets keep this simple.

Postive: The text appearance is great. Very easy on the eyes. Almost like reading from a book.

Negative: It is very uncomfortable to hold and read. There are very large buttons on both sides and the bottom. Why? It's like its made for a gorilla to change the page. Every where you touch to casually grab the thing it turns the page or worse. Did they test this thing before they mass produced it? Oh, wait... As an early buyer I was the tester. I'm hoping to send it back and buy one when they have the ergonomics figured out.
